Confirmed from Ohio to Erie Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“KEEP THE EARTH CLEAN AND GREEN”

I lived in Iowa 7 years, new jeresy 5 years, but born in Ohio. And Ohio has THE BEST BIKE TRAILS. some paved, some blacktop, some crushed limestone. And Ohio is extending Them every year. WELL MAINTAINED!!! This Ohio to Erie trail is a must to ride. My favorite. Was in. The Cleveland metro park System.

It is important to note that the segment here on Google Maps that is labeled Ohio to Erie trail is not actually the Ohio to Erie trail yet. It is a short connected piece that will be part of the Heart of Ohio trail which is indeed one of the important legs of the Ohio to Erie Trail.

It's open! They've finished the segment of the Ohio-to-Erie Trail that takes you from Cherry St., across Big Walnut Creek, to the Hartford Rd., from where you can ride to Centerburg or beyond. It's beautiful! The views from the bridge are particularly nice! Thanks to Delaware Co. Parks and whoever else got this done! 😁

Awesome trail. Rough in a few places but overall great surface.... mix of asphalt, limestone and dirt path. We started at beech street trail head and turned around to head back at Brecksville station road bridge. Would not recommend starting at breech street because there are so many other places to park.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🛣️ Paved surface 3 mentions

“Great riding surfaces mostly paved and excellent low resistance nonpaved surface with minimal gravel.”
