Confirmed from Orange Heritage Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Orange Heritage Trail
My wife and I love the trail. We walk it as often as we can. The path is paved and easy to walk. People are friendly and courteous. The whole path is unobstructed and easy to navigate, while the sides are messy, trees need to be pruned, trees overhanging the path should UT back, and a general cleanup is in order.
I love walking the Heritage Trail. The Erie Lackawanna RR tracks have been removed although one can still see the occasional artifact related to the railroad. Some great scenery. Check out the 19th century cemetery between Monroe and Chester!
Newly extended foot & bike path from Goshen over the wallkill river has a great place to stop and get food and a drink Masons Marketplace.
Great trail but this parking lot needs some pavement and lines so people don’t hog up the spaces like they do right now otherwise very good trail, I’ve biked from Harriman to Middletown and back & boy its a great workout!
