Confirmed from Oronoco Bay Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

I love this place, right here. I live here. I take walks at night sometimes after the sun goes down after 7p. They are very friendly here. I also go there and watch the airplanes 🛫 and just inhale & exhale. Oh, I take my music with me as well. That's my therapy as well. Beautiful sights.

Great park to take your pets and just walk around with your better half. The waterfront is always enjoyable to just watch the boats go by especially on a clear day or you can fly a kite or have a family picnic. Today we played with our remote control cars and walked the pup around the waterfront.

It's a serene park by the water, with clean walking paths, rocks to sit on, parking on site and lots of open lawn areas. I love bird photography, and found a lot of different birds here (mallard ducks, ring-billed gulls, mocking birds, finches to name a few).

Very good place for family picnic Very easy to find parking here, but biggest problem is no public bathroom here, closet bathrooms are in In Harris Teeter Grocery store 5 minutes walk from here, it's on Madison st.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🏞️ Scenic views 13 mentions

“I go for a run with my boyfriend every time we can, because the views to the Potomac River are awesome and you can definitely relax.”

The practical stuff

  • AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
