Confirmed from Osprey Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Currently, cool weather. No bugs to repel.. Saw a pair of Great Horned Owls, Pairs of Bald Eagles, lots of Ospreys. Also just a fun trail to walk. November 24th, 2018. Temperature 55 degree. Blue skies.

★★★★☆ — Ed , Dec 2018

Osprey Trail and Pelican Trail make for a nice 2 mile loop (about an hour - could be shorter if you take the cutover trail about halfway). Osprey Trail is more shaded and the ground is more compact. There's a little beach access where the 2 trails meet at the tip of the island.

★★★★☆ — Alisa , Aug 2022

We rode the Osprey trail while visiting the Honeymoon Island State Park. This nature trail, located at the north end of the island is about a 2 mile loop trail on mostly packed sand trails. There are a lot of splash pines and palmettos along the path.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
