Confirmed from Otter Creek Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Otter Creek Preserve

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (91 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 5 mentions

“Small preserve but mighty beautiful preserve nestled in between private homes, and water body.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 5 mentions

“Serene, peaceful with rustling leaves falling in the glittering sun.”

This park is a hidden gem in Mamaroneck. It’s great for birdwatching and walking. The only problem is very limited parking and that dogs are allowed on the trails. Which dog lovers like but difficult for birdwatching. There is marshlands as well as woodlands which brings in a lot of wonderful like ospreys and herons

★★★★★ — Rubina , May 2022

Beautiful short walk through what I think is a "marsh" – it's quiet with relatively few people, has a clear path to walk on, and includes some information / museum-esque signage along the way.

★★★★★ — Zack , Dec 2020

lovely walk along the marshland, then cross a road into the woods where a mother deer and 2 young came face to face with me. perfect fairytale! in a wealthy neighborhood, they graciously let you park on the road. the walk takes a leisurely hour.

★★★★★ — Patricia , Oct 2024

Very wet this time of year, but beautiful and still full of many birds. Fun, short loop (1 mile) with varied vegetation. The native trees and shrubs that Westchester Land Trust planted in look like they are doing well.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
