Confirmed from Ouabache State Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“We stayed at the campground during the week and it was very quiet and maintained.”

This is a park I didn't know about until recently. Lots of bike trails. Bison 🦬 to look at, 100 foot tall fire tower, lake, and campground. No camp store but the camp host sells firewood and ice. I plan on going back. My grandson and I had a good time with lots of things to do.

★★★★★ — Kyle , Sep 2025

I had an enjoyable time in this park. The fire tower was very nice and a good workout to climb the 100 steps (or so). Not much of a view, but still cool to do. I enjoyed walking the trail around the bison enclosure. The came right up to the fence and gosh those things are huge.

We love it here. Ouabache is close to where we live and we've enjoyed many hours playing tennis, fishing, hiking, playing kickball, visiting with friends, swimming in the lake, boating, and cooking out/picnicing. We also enjoy seeing the buffalo in the enclosure. Lots of wildlife here to see also.

★★★★★ — Destiny , Mar 2026

We visited for a couple hours, and enjoyed climbing the fire tower, viewing the bison, checking out the lake, playing on the play structure, and hiking a bit. The fire tower steps and railing were in great shape. The bison area has a gravel path all the way around it with some areas of shade.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🏞️ Scenic views 10 mentions

“Park itself is really nice and mostly wooded with a small pond to swim in, a small bison preserve and a fire tower that you can climb up and overlook the area.”
