Went hiking on the 300 acre Owl's Hill Nature Sanctuary today. The weather fluctuated between sunny & rainy-windy. They care for some owls that have been injured and can't be released back into the wild. You can book group educational tours. Lots of bird and wildlife viewing opportunities.
Nice place to explore nature. Very reasonable entry fee with several walking trails. The staff was very helpful answering questions about owls, butterflies and various plants growing on property. Different species of trees had markers with QR code’s to scan for additional information. Overall a nice afternoon activity.
This place is absolutely beautiful! We spent the morning walking two trails. The yellow route - The Sharp Creek Trail (1 mile) - follows the winding creek and takes you through a rich deciduous forest of ash, oak, hickory and tulip poplar trees.
I found this place online. The drive was a little scary, but it was overall a very gorgeous location. I think their mission is very noble with the owls and I loved seeing them. Was described as something with different trails of easy to hard difficulties.
