Confirmed from Paint Branch Stream Valley Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
A neighborhood park with a stream, playground, baseball field, tennis courts & hiking trails.
What runners say about Paint Branch Stream Valley Park
“We really enjoyed hanging out here and can imagine how beautiful it is in the spring/summer.”
“A serene trail, full of cardinals and other colorful birds, deer, frogs, quaint bridges, and old growth trees.”
Parkrun, a free 5k every Saturday at 9th AM. It is a wonderful trail with lots of personality.
The area we went to was well groomed and offered a variety outdoor activities with space. The pathways were wide and in good condition. The only thing I wasn't sure about is why they keep the dog park locked with only code access. Nice place to go for a walk, away from busy streets while enjoying a little nature.
For a trail tucked back away between a college and an urban sprawl it's not too bad. Very much enjoyed the murals and the sounds of water rushing by, but still too many people for my liking.
Very nice park in the College Park area with lots of walking paths, taking you near two lakes/ponds! The paths are well paved and you can bring your leashed pups. You can also bike or roller blade on most of the paths as well. We really enjoyed hanging out here and can imagine how beautiful it is in the spring/summer.

The practical stuff
- AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
