Confirmed from Parma Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🐕 dog-walking favorite 4 mentions

“Located in the back hills, this dog friendly looped trail could very well be your next favorite park too.”

Great park in the hills above Santa Barbara. Several hilly trails that take you around to the beginning. Beautiful views. Watch out for Rattlers and be prepared to hike uphill!

It was a beautiful spot!!! Expected it to be a higher altitude to see the sunset and ended up running the trails instead because it's kind of a valley. But absolutely stunning none the less!!! Highly recommend if you're looking for a nice nature trail without many people around!!!

★★★★☆ — Elizabeth , Oct 2021

Excellent park for picnicking, hiking, biking, or taking a dog for a walk. A bit more challenging than other parks due to the terrain.

★★★★★ — Wesley , May 2022

Parma is my little hidden gem in Santa Barbara. Located in the back hills, this dog friendly looped trail could very well be your next favorite park too. A challenge for uphill, but plenty of loops to take, I enjoy changing my trail each time to fit how much time I have.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🏞️ Scenic views 11 mentions

“After a short half mile walk you can enjoy some nice views down sycamore canyon to downtown and when it's clear you can see all the way out to the islands.”
