Confirmed from Paso Nogal Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Fenced off-leash park with a spacious grounds and an additional, adjoining trail system for hiking.

“Absolutely gorgeous 360 views of Mount Diablo Valley!”

Paso Nogal Park and the dog park are amazing and have great little trails for all kinds of physical ability. The dog park is amazing and so many dogs take advantage of it.
We have a large golden doodle that we take to dog parks where they can run off leash. This dog park on Paso Nogal is fantastic! Very large area for big dogs, some shade trees but not too many. Pretty level in most spots with well kept grass. Our dog Stella can't wait to get out and run at top speed.
Very large dog park surrounded by amazing hiking trails! The dog park is well maintained but a little dusty near the gates. It is quite large though which gives the dogs plenty of room to run and play.
Besides bringing your dogs to have fun with other dogs , the trail area is fabulous! I love this place

Plan your run at Paso Nogal Park
The practical stuff
- AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadwater — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
