Confirmed from Las Juntas Open Space's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Just a bit of land next to the canal that no one has built on. Small with no amenitites but nice. There are a couple of picnic tables and fire pits. There is a nice bench that gives you a great view of Mount Diablo. It's a great place to stop during a walk at night.

★★★★☆ — David , Feb 2018

Great little stop on the canal trail with benches and a water spout for dog water dishes. Once you get to the top, there is fairly nice view of the nearby area. Definitely recommend for those going for a walk or run on the nearby trail.

Pretty Nice small park with a bench. Not intended to stop and spend spend some time there, but a great view and place to rest and get some pictures of Mt. Diablo along the Contra Costa canal trail.

★★★★☆ — Wesley , Mar 2016

Very small trail/open space off the canal. It’s cute and has a little elevated spot with a nice view. NOT A PARK. Just a sweet spot for a short walk.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
