Confirmed from Pecar Park Nature Center's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park featuring a nature center, a pond, hiking trails, and a playground.
What runners say about Pecar Park Nature Center
“Everything was clean and although it was extremely hot outside the day of the party, it was kept very comfortable inside the building.”
“If you’re looking for a peaceful spot to camp close to home with all the basics covered, this is definitely worth checking out!”
Peaceful and quiet park in a beautifu area. When I take the kids, they are usually the only ones there. They play on the huge disc swing, and so do I. The new little trail is fun, too.
Pock Woods and Pecar Park Campground is such an unknown gem in Hendricks County! There are 7 campsites on an open loop plus two tucked into the woods (sites 8 and 9), which are wonderfully private and make you feel really connected to nature.
The staff here go above and beyond to make my family feel welcome. They are very well informed about the animals and clearly love their jobs. Every time we go, it’s like I learned a new thing about the animals that are inside the center. We love the hiking trails in the back.
This is an amazing facility. Check out the nature center with live animals, playground, campground, outdoor classroom, pond, agilty course and walking trails. Features are being added all the time! Added: butterfly garden and vegetable garden to feed the resident animals.
