Confirmed from Pelham City Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
This local park offers a meandering walking path & ball fields used by local high schools.
What runners say about Pelham City Park

“The park has a lot of amenities like a walking trail, splash pad, and dog park, but it was really hot and there's not much shade.”
I moved out to the Pelham area sometime back in May! I just got a chance to visit the Pelham City Park on last week and I must say very nice, safe and well maintained. Nice little hidden creek running along side the walking trial!! I'll definitely be going back for a quick evening run! 🏃
It is a Great place , I am a Resident from the City of Pelham since 2007 and I Iove this place, I visit it pretty much every day , unfortunately there are always irresponsible people who walk with their dogs without a leash ( specifically at night and outside of the dog park , on the trails where most people walk ) ,…
While waiting for Hurricane Milton to pass through Florida, we stayed three (3) nights in the Hoover, Alabama area and came across this park when we ventured away from our hotel.
Great walking trail, splash pad, kids play areas, dog walking, dog park, volleyball courts, basketball courts, library and rec center. Water bottle refill stations. Fun place to spend the day. City schedules activities and fun events with food trucks.
Trail conditions & character
“There was a dog park, basketball goals( with nets on rims), volleyball courts, and several covered areas to be protected from heat or rain.”
“The park has a lot of amenities like a walking trail, splash pad, and dog park, but it was really hot and there's not much shade.”
“The courts were really nice with great sand, bathrooms, shade, and places to rinse sand.”

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
- At the trailheadrestrooms, water — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
