Confirmed from Penn Pump Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🌾 quiet & peaceful 3 mentions

“Very calm and beautiful park to walk and cycle around!”

An amazing place to bring the whole family to! Enjoy lots of shade, areas to cook, a Creek to swim or fish in, and a walking path that takes you quite a distance either direction.

Fun spot to grill and play around. I mainly come here to run or walk, rollerblade, etc on the paved walking path which goes a decent distance in both directions! Can also access the walking path at different parking lots too.

★★★★★ — Nick , May 2025

The trail is mostly cleared of snow and ice and walkable in the winter. Some of the other local trails are neglected all winter.

★★★★★ — Mike , Dec 2025

Very calm and beautiful park to walk and cycle around! Kind cyclists around too :)

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
  • LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
