What runners say about Penny Pot
Great place to kayak. It is very narrow and lots of turns in the beginning but it widens up after a mile or two. Lots of downed trees and obstacles to paddle around which adds to the charm of the Great Egg River. It’s 10 miles from Pennypot to Weymouth Furnace.
Quaint little park. Great place to have lunch or walk the dogs. Cedar-stained creek is wonderful. Two picnic tables. Great place.
Good launch spot for a kayak. First mile of the river hasn't been cleared recently but otherwise a good run to Weymouth.
Im not a p*ssy so I found this launch site to quite adequate and complete with parking. We had a great time using it. Love the snaking water trail!!
