Confirmed from Percy Quin State Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Percy Quin State Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (1,033 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 7 mentions

“The cabins are usually well maintained (at least if you like living in a small cabin in the woods and aren’t expecting to live in style🤭) and have good views of the lake.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 16 mentions

“What I Liked: • Beautiful Lake and Fall Colors: All camping spots, including RV sites, are located near the lake, which serves as the park’s centerpiece.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 4 mentions

“For the most part the park was quiet at night a few fifth wheels run their docking lights at night for some reason.”

I echo what most recent reviewers state. New hookups and freshly poured "premium" concrete slab sites are nice, and mine was level. Other than the slab it did have some pretty steep drop offs, which caused some spills and trips. It's clear that the grounds are struggling with erosion issues.

Great experience! We enjoyed the nature trail hike even though we had to turn around. It was muddy part of the way in. But it was scenic til we got to the mud. Lots of god opportunities for photographs. The cabin was nice with only a few problems.

★★★★☆ — Conrad , Jan 2021

We camped here three nights November 2024. All sites are relatively new, level and concrete with full hookups. Sunday to Thursday $35, weekend $45 per night. Great place to bike, around nine miles of interior roads. Even has a Love Lock bridge that you can put your lock.

★★★★☆ — Jerry , Nov 2024

Beautiful park and clean restrooms and facilities. Wish there was a convenience store or the lodge was open for entertainment or food services year round. Safe and great place to go fishing, just relax, picnic, hike or enjoy the woods and lake. Day pass is $2 to see it all. Must visit if in Pike County area.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
