Confirmed from Peter Jenkins Walking Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Peter Jenkins Walking Trail

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (44 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 4 mentions

“It was an absolutely gorgeous day and he had a blast playing by the stream and that big ol tree!”

Our favorite walking path. The creek is a plus. Beautiful every way you look.

★★★★★ — Jennifer , Jun 2023

This is a walk path that extends from Port Royal road through to Allendale Elementary school. At the entrance by Port Royal, there are picnic tables and a lovely shallow creek that is often used by children and families. The first portion of the trail is covered by beautiful aged trees, with lots of shade.

★★★★☆ — Sharon , Jun 2021

Located in the back of the Wingate subdivision in Spring Hill, this peaceful pathway is paved. It has several access points: use the left side sidewalk at Allendale Elementary, enter from the sidewalk at corner of Port Royal Rd and Bern Dr, or the cutout off Hayward Ln. they just recently repaved a portion of the path.

★★★★★ — Tara , Sep 2023

The trail has just been newly re-paved as of June 2023. It had a lot of tree roots growing under the path which made it very uneven and bumpy. It’s nice and smooth now! The trail isn’t very long but it goes all the way to Allendale Elementary from Port Royal road.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
