Confirmed from Pharr Family Preserve Trail - Carolina Thread Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

👟 good for all levels 3 mentions

“Part of the Carolina Thread Trail collection, this is an easy trail that walks you thru fantasticly varying forest lands just next to the Rocky River.”

Enjoyed the walk. River was beautiful and clear, water sparkling. Hot, but not overbearing. All the shade kept the trail cooler. Quite cool in some places. The only negative I can think of is: biting flies buzzed around me periodically both going out and coming back, bit me twice.

Our Scout Troop from Virginia came here while visiting Reed Gold Mine. We enjoyed the trail and thought this place was great! Seeing that the parking lot was an Eagle Scout project was awesome. The trail was great! Highly recommend visiting. It was nice to see 2 deputies patrolling the lot while we were there, too!💙

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🏞️ Scenic views 11 mentions

“This has become one of my favorite hour+ hikes in the area because of the unique flora, established trail, and water views.”
