As my mother and I were entering through the Evergreen Ave entrance, a man stopped us and suggested the trail two streets over on Watkins would be an easy-moderate trail that would take us to the Vista trail which overlooks Rutland.
Traveling through and wanted to get the toddlers out to stretch their legs. This place was perfect! There's a trail designed completely with kids in mind. I believe it was just over a mile. There was a book that we got to read along the trail which kept my 4 year old running ahead to hear what was next.
We brought our dogs here for a winter hike. An abundance of trails and varying terrain. Great for hiking and biking. Some nice stations and exercises for kids to explore nature and learn wilderness survival skills. Clean, well marked and a beautiful area once you get into the woods and leave the car park.
One of the cleanest parks and trails in Vermont! So peaceful and nice and shady so your not dying in the hot sun. Can't wait until foliage it is beautiful up there
