I’m so glad I decided to not take the interstate this whole trip or I would miss these wonderful places to visit. On the outskirts of Pingree was Pingree Grove Forest Preserve. This park had a small parking lot but not impossible to access.
It's a nice park but it's too buggy. Basically wetlands with the trail through it. Nice shelter house. I also give it an extra star for the fact that they have a restroom and running water.
Really great trails and observation areas, but holy you-know-what, there is so much you-know-what. People, pick up after your dogs!!!!!!!
1.5 mile walking trail, pet friendly. Good walk to get out for a half hour and enjoy the outside. Not to many people there usually.
