Confirmed from Pioneers Park Nature Center's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Prairie, forest & wetlands covering 668 acres for environmental education & animal preservation.
What runners say about Pioneers Park Nature Center
“The trails and property are well-maintained, yet those managing it are respectful of habitats and don’t mow everything to look pristine.”
“It’s such a wonderful asset, saving a beautiful hunk of wildflowers is a great gift to the next generation of hikers and fans of the outdoor life!”
“I was highly impressed by the care taken of the beautiful Raptors they had and the trails along the way were very peaceful.”
I love Pioneer Park Nature Center! Not only do they have bison, but there are paths through either forest or prairie indigenous wildflowers. My granddaughter loves it. My wife and I love it. While walking around a pond last week, we said, all those sticks cannot ALL be the heads of bullfrogs!
Took my grandson here and around the park on the trails so he could ride his scooter. He enjoyed the nature center with the stuffed wildlife and the live snakes and turtles. Wasn't too busy either. There are restrooms over by the playground. They need to put a shade over the play sets to keep them from getting hot.
Very peaceful and beautiful park! Well kept trails and picnic areas! Definitely worth it! I will be back to check in on the buffalo who are living their best life! Yaaaassss!
Love going to the Nature Center. Especially with kids. It is such a great place to show and help explain the Nebraskan wildlife and creatures we have here. It allows them to explore and there are fun trails to walk and let them get energy out while they learn lol.
