Confirmed from Plantation Preserve and Linear Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Plantation Preserve and Linear Trail
“The landscaping is beautiful and there are a lot of benches where you can stop for a rest.”
In response to the only review on 10/2022, this most certainly is a walking trail. Now is it a hiking area with miles of trails? No, but what it does have is a rich biodiversity, especially with bird life.
Nice walk through the woods surrounded by a golf course. A good urban "hike"
To access the trail, park near the playground. Take the trail to the right that crosses the bridge. The Linear Trail is a 1.1 mile trail that runs through wetlands between 2 sides of the Plantation Preserve Golf Course. There is water on both sides of the trail. You can run, walk, hike, or bike it.
One of the best places to see wintering songbirds and wetland birds in South Florida, since all the perches are right by the trail (which is paved and handicapped-accessible). They've also planted a wide variety of native plants, which are also easily visible. Get there early!
