Confirmed from Prairie Branch Loop's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Hiking area with trails and campsites near a lake, offering views of the water.
What runners say about Prairie Branch Loop
“Great spots along the water, clean campsites”
“This side of the State Park is scenic!”
I love hunstville state park and this is a good little hike. Can get muddy after rains so appropriate shoes is a must. The lake views are my favorite.
This side of the State Park is scenic! Walking along these trials gives me a lot of opportunities to see different species of ducks like wood ducks and blue-winged teal ducks.
Great trail. Lots of parking and campsites. Well maintained and diverse. Well marked. Close enough to 45 for access. Far away to feel secluded.
Fair priced at $7.00 per person, trails as small as 1 mile and as large as 6 miles. Restrooms available prior to trails. Very friendly staff, enough parking to accommodate if it is busy.
