Confirmed from Prairie Creek Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Prairie Creek Preserve
“Beautiful place to explore, very long dirt road before you get to the preserve.”
“Loved it it was very quiet no one was there very tranquil”
Very nice wildlife drive. We drove up and back 9.8 miles. Saw lots of field and meadow birds. Enter using Live Oak Rd. Do not follow the website and go to 1900 Duncan road as that is a quick dead end to a metal locked gate. Worth the time and a pleasant trip. Dead ends after over 4 miles at the grass parking area.
It's a 5 mile dirt road to get to the preserve. But once you get there, they have a nice kayak launch. There is also a few hiking trails. Sadly, they don't allow dogs there. Fossils can be found Up creek from the preserve. Both land animals and shark teeth fossils can be found.
I love this place! I hike around all the preserves and forest around the area and i really like praire creek preserve becuase you actually can go up to the creek lol. But really cool trails. Saw hogs here by the creek. Really calm and peaceful.
