Confirmed from Prairie Queen Recreation Area's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Lake with a fishing dock and a ramp.
What runners say about Prairie Queen Recreation Area
“The water is fairly clean, and there are numerous places to catch Bass, Walleye, Sunfish and Crappie.”
“Nice 4-miler around a scenic lake with wildlife, a strength training center, and gorgeous sunrises.”
Great area - wide paths to allow bikes, runners, and walkers. Not too many people at any given time, especially as you move along the path. There's a boat ramp - definitely a nice area to kayak in. The lake is big enough to not feel like you're even remotely crowded.
What a gem. Tucked away lots of fishing opportunities, well maintained great for walking. Seems popular but not crowded.
Good fishing here over all. On the east side there are areas that you can be alone and just enjoy the water. The west side by the dock is almost always busy. The trail here is well taken care of it's a nice walk.
Apart from a few deer ticks & my girls not wanting to use the restroom, the views were amazing. It's a 4 mile around the lake. We walked, husband fished, & the fireworks views on the 4th were breathtaking.
