Confirmed from Pulpit Rock Loop trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Pulpit Rock Loop trailhead

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (20 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 3 mentions

“Very nice trail with great views and a lot of informational signage about previous (some historical) residents.”

Phenomenal place details route and notable historical local home owners, lifestyles, and early tourism. Pulpit rock is at the end of the trail. Short hike.

Take the lower trail. Its the narrow hiking trail that veers off to the right (east) at the trailhead. This will take you down through a narrow rocky area to the lake. Nice picnic spot.

★★★★☆ — J , Oct 2022

You must get an $11 non-resident or resident parking pass or you can be fine. $25. We did the lower, take a right at trailhead, that takes you down into the gorge. Wear lots of bug spray like head to toe drenched in it. You'll end up at the lake. Had a nice little spot for a picnic.

★★★★★ — Shenan , May 2023

Very nice trail with great views and a lot of informational signage about previous (some historical) residents. The trail is easy and doesn't take too long. We read the signs, and both of us would have liked to see a recreation of what the area looked like when people lived here.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
