Confirmed from Railhead Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Multipurpose park with 2 large soccer fields & a playground, plus a picnic shelter, trails & a pond.
What runners say about Railhead Park
“The park is very nice and has very clean restrooms facilities.”
Another trail into the Auburn Canyon. It is just around the corner from the Overlook area. Good parking and a clean bathroom.
I love this whole area all of the hiking and biking trails are incredible. Strongly recommend writing down to the pump house at the river. It is an incredible descent be careful of a few spots where the road has washed away.( Just remember that you have brakes and use them).
Reason I like this little area cuz it's a cool little spot to bike around, when you don't want to go to the trails. Looking for some climbing technique and downhill braking technique on slops check out this area alongside the soccer field is a lot of man-made Hills that's fun to jet up.
Was with my 16 yr grandson preparing for soccer tryouts at Colfax High soon. Nice field. People around going to walk are friendly. Love seeing dogs jump into pond across the way; hoped the train would pass by so I could wave. Its a wonderful place!

“However, the parking situation is more limited now which can create hazards parking on the road in a residential area not intended for parking on the shoulder.”

“The area is pretty flat from what I can tell so there aren't any hills which gives it more of a plain (area of flat land) vibe.”

- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
