Confirmed from Robie Point's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Robie Point

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (266 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 11 mentions

“4 stars because all things have imperfections but I enjoyed every step and even more the beautiful views ❤️ super long moderately challenging hike.”

🌳 shaded & cool 4 mentions

“Only a couple of decent viewpoints so not much to it, but you are surrounded by shade for a good part of it.”

Great place to park & start a beautiful hike. Hiked all the way down to the river below the bridge Vin Deisel jumped off of in the XxX movie! The entire journey was gorgeous 🏞🌤 Waterfall along the way too!!

★★★★★ — Sugar , Dec 2021

I really loved this trail! Of course it was much easier on the way down then the way back up, and it was worth it and not too bad in the end. Overall it was great cardio with lovely views and wonderful fresh air! We ended the trail after viewing the waterfall which was beautiful!

★★★★★ — Heather , Feb 2023

Easy trail with wide dirt road perfect for jogging/running. Only a couple of decent viewpoints so not much to it, but you are surrounded by shade for a good part of it. There are much better hikes in the Auburn area. I would leave this one for dog walkers and runners.

★★★★☆ — Norcal , Jul 2025

The parking lot is at the top of the hill near the foundation of an old homestead. Paths lead down to different trails. It can be confusing as there are many overlapping trails without markers.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
