Confirmed from Red Cloud Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 5 mentions

“High water its a beautiful place, low water it stinks like youd expect a swamp to smell.”

Lovely park. Has walking paths and playground. Have seen raccoons and deer and a fox besides the run of the mill fauna. Recommend.

★★★★★ — Laura , Nov 2021

The park is pretty secluded, it's got stuff for the kids to play on and a wide open area for running around

★★★★☆ — Brian , May 2022

It's a lovely park. The walking path is very nice, my husband and I use it often for walks or jogging. It's well lit at night. This park is generally well maintained and clean.

★★★★☆ — Sarah , Jul 2024

Nice quiet location. Nice sized park and there is a shelter to rent for parties, tennis court, basketball hoops and a walking trail. Bathrooms weren't open during other day when we went.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

“However, recently there's been a lot more dog feces on several lamp post bases and smeared on the walking path (probably because people are stepping in this dog feces).”

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadrestrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
