Confirmed from Richard P. Outhouse Memorial Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Nice playground with loose rubber for the base. No mud. Plentiful swings, and a neat pirate ship to play on. There is a gravel path to walk or run; 2 laps equals 1.5 miles. Also a basketball court, picnic pavilions and a bathroom. No trees for shade in the summer, but still a decent park.

★★★★☆ — Christopher , Nov 2020

Such a great and unique playground! Tons of room for running, love the 4 person bouncy seesaw. Always seems to have just the right amount of people, a few kids to play with but never so busy kids are overwhelming the area or anything.

★★★★★ — Samantha , Sep 2018

This park and playground is amazing! My 4 yo son had a blast on the pirate ship themed equipment! He couldn't get enough of the tall slides. Plenty of benches for parents to sit, super clean restroom facility, paved walking track and of course pavilions.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfaceCrushed gravel — the rail-trail classic: softer than asphalt, still smooth enough for tempo work
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
