Confirmed from Riverside Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Riverside Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (129 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 8 mentions

“Beautiful views of the river and lots of other things to do!”

Beautiful park! Frisbee golf, baseball, tennis, boat launch, and Ice Age Trail (Devils Staircase). Can get busy but plenty of parking in various lots.

★★★★★ — Bikes , May 2022

One of my favorite places to walk. The gate is already down for the other half of the park. But it is still a good place to walk.

★★★★★ — Mom4Life , Dec 2020

One of my favorite parks to visit with friends here in Janesville! Beautiful views of the river and lots of other things to do! (Frisbee golf course, splash pad for the kids, a spring-fed artesian water fountain, lots of areas to grill/ picnic (quite a few large picnic shelters for gathering (after COVID of course!

There's a lot to offer here that people don't realize. It's convenient and beautiful. Splash pad, games, children's park, tennis, pier, trails, picnic area, devil's staircase, etc.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🏞️ Scenic views 11 mentions

“There's overlooks near the golf course that are great for pictures or just a minute to relax.”
