Confirmed from Robinson Forest's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Robinson Forest

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (32 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

Small trail system with a unique ecosystem. Very oak Savannah. Great for a night walk for star watching. Low light pollution for the location.

★★★★★ — Taylor , Nov 2020

Great little piece of land to walk. Outside of a little traffic noise here and there, you could easily feel like you were much deeper in a forest then you are. No improvements to speak of on the land that we found.

★★★★★ — Dallas , May 2019

Nice place for a quick walk. Watch out for poison ivy and be aware this is a dedicated lot for hunting in-season. A recent prescribed burn of the area has brought new life to the forest. Blackberries and lady slippers can be seen here. Don't pick the lady slippers as it is illegal.

★★★★☆ — Jeramie , Jun 2017

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
  • At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
