Confirmed from Rochester Common's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Great place for kids to p play and adults to walk and relax. Always well kept and clean. Some unsavory characters around at times...I wouldn't leave my kids alone

★★★★★ — Donna , Jul 2021

Ehh, what can I say? It's a nice park, well maintained, and not to mention a very historical site. Many people use this park to bring their children, dogs, and even just themselves to enjoy a nice day every now and then. It features a trail which encompasses the entirety of the park used for walking and running laps.

★★★★☆ — Matt , Nov 2018

I like walking here because it is a third of a mile around, so I know how far I have walked. Also, if it is later in the evening, I feel a little more safe walking in this open public space than walking at, say, a cemetery or some other quieter place.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
