Confirmed from Rocky Point State Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Relaxed park on the Atlantic featuring remnants of an old amusement park and a beach.
What runners say about Rocky Point State Park
“Beautiful grounds, plus memories, great place for walks, dog friendly.”
“Dog friendly, there’s picnic tables/covered spots, rocks to hang out, a pier.”
This state park seems to be in need of attention. It seems that it was once a very vibrant park with amusement rides and restaurant and olympic pool. Now it's a large green space with pretty vistas of the bay, a nice fishing dock and walking paths. It desperately needs nice restrooms. The portable potties are gross.
Beautiful park on the Narragansett Bay. There are several fairly detailed signs on the history of Rocky Point Amusement Park. You can still see some of the old attractions around the park, as well as go out on the pier for some fishing.
Went to Rocky Point State Park on New Years Day. Snow covered the ground and I got to tick off a bucket list item of seeing sand and snow mix on the beach. There’s a very nice pier and massive arch (other reviews have good photos, so no need to include here).
Love this park with beaches and great trails to walk along the shoreline. Lots of history with the amusement park that was here. Signs up throughout the park with details on each of the rides, the pool , and skyliner. Paved bike trail and also trails along the rocky coast. Can see seals here during the winter months.
