Confirmed from Colt State Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

11.13.21 Took our bikes on this trail and explored the park as well as the East Bay Bike Path. What's not to love about this State Park? It was free, ample parking spots for this in cars, lots to do with families, on dates, or solo. People were biking, walking, sitting in the sun. Very quiet and clean area.

This historic park on the West Bay of Rhode Island is beautiful and very large. I found the whole place very clean. The beaches along the whole park are beautiful rocks, restrooms, picnic tables, fire bits, lots of woods to pee and poop in I will be coming back to this place in the future and bring my kids.

We visited Colt State Park on 7/3/2022. It was the Independence Day eve and it was fully packed with people out in son for picnic and get together. A beautiful summer day in the park which is nicely located at ocean / water front - who doesn’t want to be there.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
