Confirmed from Rocky Run Stream Valley Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Rocky Run Stream Valley Trail

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (211 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 4 mentions

“Beautiful place to walk in the fall with all the trees changing colors and loosing their leaves.”

We often walk the 6 miles stretch from Monument Dr. to Eleanor Lawrence park. The trail is well defined. Though it runs closely through communities yet it’s quiet and beautiful.

★★★★★ — Ranadeep , Nov 2023

Other than being taken to the wrong location by Google Maps, I thoroughly enjoyed my walk through this trail. It's quiet, paved and clearly marked by maps along the route. This is an easy-going walk that you could do with small children and dogs.

★★★★☆ — Ashlina , Apr 2019

Very nice to walk through. This is a photo from just a couple days before writing this, and in that time the paths have been paved over, which is nice to walk/jog on and probably might even be nice to longboard on on a breezy day. People are friendly enough to smile and say hello to in passing.

★★★★★ — Ryry , Jun 2020

Nice trail to take a walk. It’s near neighborhoods but still quite enough. Runs next to a stream.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🛣️ Paved surface 6 mentions

“It's a pretty fun trail, twisting and turning, with paved and unpaved areas, and going next to a nice stream at points.”

Plan your run at Rocky Run Stream Valley Trail

The practical stuff

  • AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
  • SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
