Confirmed from Rolando Woods Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Rolando Woods Park
“Great hiking trails with easy to navigate paths.”
Great little park. I never knew it existed until today. There are even trails you can walk.
Well kept, beautiful little park. Seems to actually be called Monterey Pass Battlefield Park though. Nice playground and immaculate trails with interpretive signs. The hike up to Monterey Pass overlook is about 1.5 miles round trip and very much worth it.
Great hiking trails with easy to navigate paths. Amazing lookout area at the top and the trail loops so it's easy to follow. Plus has all the history markers of the battle of Monterey Pass.
Nice park. Great swings. Want to check out the walking paths. Haven't yet.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
