Confirmed from Rotary Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Nice place for a walk/run/biking. Enjoyed walking along the water, seeing the sculptures, and birds. The trail is paved making it very easy. Has portable bathrooms at each parking lot. Many places nearby to grab a quick drink and snack.

Get ready to walk if you follow the scenic historic trail. No gym needed if you walk or jog this path leading to the gym at the end of it if you extend it the street portion.

★★★★★ — Maria , Sep 2023

Beautiful scenic walk. Nice waterfall at the loop. Very nice walking/ jogging/ biking trail that travels alongside the road in Putnam CT. Love to jog it while my kids bike.

★★★★★ — It'S , Aug 2024

Very nice trail to walk. Many people walking g with their dogs and strollers. Shaded most of the time. Has a very large dog park. I like walking here about 2-3 times a week.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

Plan your run at Rotary Park

The practical stuff

  • AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
