Confirmed from Rouge Gateway Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Paved, dog-friendly trail runs through a woodsy landscape and crosses bridges over the Rouge River.
What runners say about Rouge Gateway Trailhead
“Been going here as a kid and now i get to take my kids it's beautiful and they keep making it nicer.”
Such a wonderful place to explore. From Michigan Ave. to Hines Drive. Well light in the evenings by the HF college campus. The walks through the woods are clear with nice spaces to seek out in the woods.
It's very hard to get kids outdoors these days. This trail is one of the very best I've come across by far! All it took was one time on the trail, and we have been hooked. Not only is it pretty long, so it's great for exploring. But also, full of wildlife!
Nice place to take a walk. The trees are magnificent in the rain, and the river is glaringly beautiful. I wrote a haiku about it, in fact. Andiamo, there A place with it all and more I think I’ll go hike
Great place to walk, bike or run all the way out to Hines Drive! Check out the Henry Ford Estate and surrounding areas while here.
