Confirmed from Roy Dog Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park with a walking path around a dry water basin where dogs can exercise and play.
What runners say about Roy Dog Park
“I am giving four stars because we couldn't go all summer as there is no shade, and there have not been any waste bags available any time I have been there.”
“Very cool Park dogs love it it's fenced all around and really cool I think love it cool dogs cool people”
Friendly people and friendly dogs, from my experience. Water bowls available. I enjoy the paved track to walk around while my dog plays. My dog and I have had an awesome time here!
Good for those who want to walk your dog in a fairly boring area. Not much but grass and asphalt and gravel. No shade or super interesting places to explore for the dogs. But owners and dogs coming here have been great.
I take my dog there every morning to run on the track. The dogs really enjoy it and so do I. However, it would help to add some trees and more equipment!!
Love this park. Dog and I both get our exercise. There is a drinking fountain and bags. Only thing lacking is shade

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
- At the trailheadwater — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
