Confirmed from Runnymede Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Runnymede Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (191 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 5 mentions

“Great trails for a nice walk in the afternoon such a beautiful nature for good pictures!”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 6 mentions

“The subtle sound of the stream, breeze through the canopy of the trees and the light getting filtered through the green of the leaves makes it so serene.”

Always enjoy this walk. There's a good mix between dirt trails, small streams, and paved walkways. It's always so peaceful every time I come. Another great perk is that it connects to Sugarland Run Trail so you can go for as long as you want.

Nice place for a short walk. On the other end of the trail there's a playground but I didn't see any restroom. There are a few benches where you can rest and eat. Even at the entrance next to the parking

Beautiful park right in the middle or city. Onr step on the trail and you are in a different world. The subtle sound of the stream, breeze through the canopy of the trees and the light getting filtered through the green of the leaves makes it so serene.

★★★★★ — Nikhil , Jun 2023

This is a fantastic getaway in the town itself, if you feel like having an adventure and don't want to travel far you can have a similar hiking and adventure experience right here, just be extremely careful while you are walking as there could be small snakes depending on how the climate is on that particular day, you…

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🤫 Quiet / uncrowded 6 mentions

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
  • At the trailheadwater — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
