Confirmed from Sagamore Recreation Area's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Tranquil place along the Cape Cod Canal for picnics, jogging, fishing and biking.
What runners say about Sagamore Recreation Area
“Gorgeous views, walk & bike path runs at least 2 miles, and there is free parking and bathrooms available.”
You would think that there would be quite a bit to do at the location especially with the word recreation- not the case. That said, it's a great place to park and explore the canal. The canal has places where you could use the restroom and find some shade on a hot summer day of needed be.
I had a wonderful time here, people who visit the bike trail and woods trail are super friendly and interactive with even out of towners (like me). The bike path is super long and overseas the canal under the Bourne and sagamore bridge.
Easy access parking lot. Was plenty of empty parking spots eve though it was a busy day. Nice access to the bike trail with a good view of the channel and the bridge. Parking lot pavement shows its age. Also there is a picnic area nearby. People just enjoy the nature. Lots of fishing.
Beautifully done area, relaxing place to eat a quick meal in the car amd look at the scenery. Great walking/ bike trail. 4 stars because it is poorly lit and creepy at night, and there aren't any restrooms.
