Salt Creek Wilderness is a neat area with lots of hiking. The views are awesome, wildlife, the flowers are beautiful, the watering holes are neat (can be a bit muddy and sticky beware!) with dark colors and swirls.... entrancing and enchanting!
Salt Creek Wilderness is the northern section of the greater Bitter Lake NWR. This is a pretty cool place when you take the time to explore it. The sinkholes scattered across the property are very interesting to see in this otherwise very dry area. Be prepared for a primitive hiking experience though.
Beautiful views lots of land to walk about all really appreciate the beauty of the world around you. Take the time to watch the sunset you won't regret it. The GPS takes you to the right location. It is called the Wilderness for a reason.
Common sense warnings: Bring plenty of water. Wear pants and real shoes. Wear sunscreen. Lots of space to explore the trails, and no shortage of wildlife to see. Lovely spot.
