Confirmed from Sanborn Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Sanborn Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (249 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 3 mentions

“You can even play fetch with your dog on the north end if you clean up after.”

🐕 dog-walking favorite 3 mentions

“Nice neighborhood playground, they are dog friendly and now they have portable potties on site.”

Had a lot of fun with my children & husband. The ice was a little more bumpy than what I'd like, but still so fun to skate on! The hill by the playground is alright for sledding, it's not the tallest, but it is still fun to sled down on. My kids had a lot of fun and that's what matters the most!

Great place for sports and a nice playground for the kids. In the winter time there is ice skating, hockey and a warming house. Crystal Lake is across the street and nice to walk along.

Had fun letting my Malamute/GSD mix pull my 6 year old around the park. Sidewalk all the way around the park was shoveled and parking lot was plowed so we were able to go all the way around. It was a nice walk! Then he went sledding after that for a little while.

Nice little park. Big open field. Baseball field and playground. Area in the middle to run around. Large horseshoe area with half a dozen pits or so. Picnic pavilion as well, but needs a permit for more then 25 people. We were looking for thr end of a rainbow, but not find it here.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🚻 Restrooms 7 mentions

“Cute little local park, trees, open grass, walking path, dog park, picnic area, playground, basketball hoops, tennis court, baseball diamond, bathroom.”

The practical stuff

  • AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
