We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Sanctuary Woods yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Sanctuary Woods
“December walk through that was beautiful.”
I loved this walk. There are many paths to take and there are still many structures to see. Very peaceful and not very busy or crowded. A secret gem near froedert and unfortunately active construction. A cool piece of milwaukee history. Keep it clean!
Great shaded paths for running especially on hot sunny days. I use the area as part of my long runs.
Beautiful place! The walking trails were very clean and the views were great!
