Confirmed from Sandymount Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Beautiful clean park, with easy paved walking trails, playground for kids, soccer, baseball, tennis, basketball court. Nice pavilion with tables and benches for events. Plenty of dog owners walking their furry family members. This place also looks very nice in spring

Pretty neat park with a good walking trail and playground for children, along with sports courts for all you sport playing people out there. It's a great spot to bring your pet chicken for a walk because there is a ton of grass for them, but sadly the art of chicken keeping as been dying as of recently. How sad.

★★★★★ — Steve , Apr 2019

Compact, nice paved paths for bike riding by young kids, next to a grammar school, so there are two play areas. Also has a large pavillion for large group picnics, and 4 smaller tables with bench seats and sun screens next to the park play area.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
