It's a great place to go for a hike and enjoy a rare natural habitat. Throughout trails there is awesome picture locations. The bicycle trail is also available for peeps who want to enjoy biking and nature.
Really nice park it's fairly easy to get to the observation bridge if that's what you want to go see. The park is large and you can go on a four hour walk. Make sure to bring bug spray they do have marshy terrain that they keep up with so you will come into contact with Nats and mosquitos if you don't Spray up.
Very nice area for enjoying nature, birding, and all kinds of wildlife. They have signage and maps to guide you on the many well maintained trails. They have two observation towers to get a Birds Eye view of the refuge. Take note it does get hot so take plenty of water.
Visiting Santa Ana NWR with my TPWD team was inspiring. Our veteran birder guide offered incredible insights into local wildlife and insects and the walking bridge offered stunning views from the top. As a veteran, I was honored to receive my lifetime pass from the helpful park host.
