Confirmed from Santa Paula Canyon Trailhead (Punchbowls)'s own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Santa Paula Canyon Trailhead (Punchbowls)
“It's a very beautiful place, but it's a bit difficult to take a 9-year-old child there because there are a lot of rocks, so it's recommended to go alone or with friends.”
“Lots of good shade on the trails .”
I've done this trail like 8 times it's definitely a work out it's definitely harder now with all the rain we had last year overall it's a beautiful hike with alot of water worth the hike if you are going to do this hike go really in the morning and follow the arrows overall good hike 🚶♂️
Had an amazing time hiking up the trails. You will cross the creek multiple times. It can be a little extreme, but it is well worth it. It took us 2hrs and 45 mins to get to the waterfall, but we did a couple of stops for puctures. There are blue and pink dotted rocks along the way for you to follow to the waterfall.
Open for Memorial Day wkend…not sure if it’s open now. Very long hike w/ lots of stream crossings, so make sure you have grippy shoes bc it can be slippery. Definitely feels longer now that the path has changed so much from a couple years ago. But worth getting to the waterfall
Amazing hiking, a little bit hard, bit it's possible. My frenchie bulldog have done all trail 👌🏼 Parking lot very small, Sunday morning at 7:30am you can park easy.

“When you get to the waterfall, go to the right up a little then you will go up a hill to the right and you will walk down the mountain.”
