Confirmed from Sarasota Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Sarasota Trailhead

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (184 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 9 mentions

“The desert is beautiful, brutal, and doesn’t care about your excuses.”

🪧 well-marked 3 mentions

“Such beautiful views and clear well marked trails.”

Very hiker and biker friendly trail. I went on Saturday morning and met perhaps 4 hikers and a couple of biker groups. The trail is well marked and the views are nice. I'd rate this trail as easy. Some rocks, but mainly there is a dirt path.

★★★★☆ — Lucie , Mar 2022

Nice large TH parking, including a larger gravel loop area for horse trailer users. Sorry doggos, you cannot go on these trails. No restrooms.

★★★★★ — Greg , Nov 2020

A must do! Such beautiful views and clear well marked trails. Easy to get to and parking lot at the trail head. We took the Sarasota to the Explorer trail to make a loop and it took us about an hour & 20 minutes with plenty of stops for photos. Easy-moderate (a little elevation) but really great hike overall.

★★★★★ — Nicole , Feb 2025

Great place to go hiking! So many connecting trails and always friendly hikers and bikers on the trail.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

  • At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
