Confirmed from Sauk Creek Nature Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Secluded spot featuring a small waterfall, hiking trails, deer, salmon and trout.
What runners say about Sauk Creek Nature Preserve
“So beautiful with trails to different spots on the river.”
“Very nice quiet place when my boyfriend and went to it.”
We love walking down to our local nature preserve. A picnic table or two and a porta potty would be nice additions!
I go practice fishing whenever I can. Really short distance from just about anywhere in Port Washington. Multiple entrance, and when the river is low, the rocky outlines on the bank can make swimming holes. But do make sure you stick to the trail, for once you stray, you may find yourself on private property.
Port’s hidden gem. When not overtaken by fisherman from IL, this is an awesome place to walk. Quick .5-1.5 mile loops.
What a great hidden gem!!! The walk was nice and the creek was so calming 😌🙌
